London & Area Chapter

Jennifer Dickenson, BSc, OLCM, LCCI: As someone who has developed a passion for CCI in the last decade (and CCI-National in the last 3 years), I am putting my name forward to run for a position on the National Executive Board.  Most of you saw me sing “CCI: We love condos” at the introduction my second National Leaders Forum, right before the world shut down. (thank you Ashley Lamb, co-singer)

What many may not know, is I grew up around Condominiums and hearing about CCI-London and Area.  My father first joined the condo industry formally in 1992 and in the same year, joined CCI-London and Area, as one of the first members.  I grew up helping collate Board packages around the diningroom table (thank goodness for better photocopiers now) and walking around looking at townhouses and highrises during spring site inspections.  The family business primed my interest but it wouldn’t be for years until I realized it.

I attended university with the intention of becoming a Pathologist.  Realizing in my 4th year it was not the career path I truly wanted, I fell back, temporarily (or so I thought) on the family business.  Well. Let me tell you. I found my calling: People and their properties.  I’ve been in the business for 13 years and in CCI for almost as long.  I’ve attended more CCI education sessions than I can count.  I relish the continuing education offered by our organization and love seeing how we can contribute to our industry in surprising ways.

I was elected to the CCI-London and Area board 2 terms ago and was just re-elected, allowing me to continue serving as President of our chapter.  My passion to improve our offerings lead to me taking over our social media channels and digitizing our newsletter. (Thank you Stephen Cassady for your guidance).  It’s been a bit and a learning experience.  I dedicated hours a week to our social media management and quarterly newsletter, eventually passing off the task to a professional social media company and our administrator.

I served as a member of the BPIR committee, as I was truly interested in seeing how our organization could come together in a more efficient way.  I’m thrilled to see where our committee chairs brought us and am excited I get to celebrate with many of you at this fall’s National Leaders Forum.  I am the chair of the National Events committee, currently, and love working with the wonderful members, as they truly all contribute.  Teamwork.  What more can our organization ask for?!

I’ve found my career to become more rewarding as I joined CCI.  The people on Local and National levels really make this organization wonderful.  Most of us ‘caught the bug’ years ago and love to welcome new people into the fold.  I was one of those National Newbies 3 years ago and I’ve just become more and more involved since then.  I’d like to help contribute more on a National level and would love to have your vote.  Please vote Jennifer Dickenson!
