Tony Reed, CRM
SVP, Prairies Unit Leader Real Estate, BFL CANADA Insurance Service Inc.

South Alberta Chapter

Tony Reed was born and raised in Ottawa, ON and has resided now in Alberta for 25 years with his wife and 2 teenage daughters and is proud to call Calgary home.  Tony started his career in insurance in 1998 and is coming up on his 10 year work anniversary with BFL CANADA this February 2024.  He is a Senior Vice President and Unit Leader for the Prairies Real Estate Team working exclusively to insure condominium corporations.

Contributions to CCI South Alberta: Tony served actively as the VP on the CCI Board for Southern Alberta from 2017 to 2023.  Since joining CCI, he has led or assisted on various committees, taught multiple CCI courses and has spoken at conference across Alberta and Nationally. Tony currently serves as the representative of CCI-SAB on the newly formed ACMEC (Alberta Condominium Management Education Consortium) board as the Vice Chair.  ACMEC was formed to provide educational training to Condominium Managers in exam preparation for their newly required provincial licenses.  Additionally, Tony serves on the ACR (Alberta Condominium & Real Estate Conference) board which is already preparing for our 10th anniversary conference next year. Tony is most proud of being one of a few to represent CCI at the Alberta Government when the new Condominium Regulations were introduced in 2020 providing his expertise in Condominium Insurance. Tony strongly believes in giving back to the condominium community and that is evident with his strong fund raising abilities that has helped CCI-SAB to be a financially stable organization.

Motivation to be re-elected onto the  CCI National Executive Board:  Should I have the honor to continue serving on the National Board, I welcome the opportunity to continue to give back the Condominium/Strata community of which I have worked closely with over the past 15 years.  I bring a common sense approach, along with a positive attitude and mindset that anything can be accomplished.  I truly believe that CCI National can play a greater role in assisting local chapters in their pursuit to be the “go to” condominium resource center. I also believe that CCI can be a stronger partner with local chapters in the ability to affect change in the condominium world either through Government or with best practices.

I have enjoyed immensely the last year on the CCI National Board, having the opportunity to work with amazing people who have had the ability to affect positive change in the condominium industry.  I have learned a lot and have tried to implement it in my daily work.  I am positive I can continue to bring the Western Canadian values and ideas I have learned to National and help continue to build on an already outstanding organization.

I feel like I have only had a taste of the National Board, and would love the opportunity to build on what we have done this past year and to contribute more over the next two year term now knowing the “ropes”.

Thank you for your consideration and your support.
