As some of you may recall, back in December of 2020 the Auditor General released a report on the condominium sector in Ontario (see our December 9th, 2020 Newsflash here). In March of 2021, CCI-Toronto’s Legislative Committee made submissions to the Auditor General regarding the 2020 Auditor General report that we also shared with the Condominium Authority of Ontario, the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario, and the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (as that Ministry was then known).
In November of 2022, the Auditor General released an update to her 2020 report, which can be found on the Auditor General’s website here. Although we do not necessarily agree with all of the Auditor General’s recommendations that she has followed-up on in her 2022 report, we believe that this 2022 update should be brought to the attention of CCI members.
We will be reviewing the Auditor General’s 2022 update, and we will be looking into making submissions to the relevant parties again. Such submissions will be posted on the CCI-Toronto website, so stay tuned!
The CCI Toronto Legislative Committee is committed to providing regular ongoing updates regarding all legislation concerning condominiums, in order to keep our members abreast of changes of which they need to be aware.
