2025 2025 Alberta Condominium & Real Estate Conference

From the Fall 2025 issue of the CCI South Alberta CCI Review

The 2025 Alberta Condominium & Real Estate Conference (ACR), held October 24 & 25 in Calgary, once again brought together the province’s most engaged condominium professionals, board members, owners, and industry suppliers for two days of learning, connection, and forward momentum. As the leading professional gathering for the condominium sector, the ACR Conference continues to serve as an essential platform for education, collaboration, and business development within Alberta’s rapidly evolving condominium market.

Supported by the Alberta Condominium Managers Association, the Canadian Condominium Institute – South Alberta Chapter, and the Real Estate Institute of Canada, Calgary Chapter, the event welcomed more than 500 delegates. Attendees represented a wide cross-section of the industry—including condominium managers, board members, legal and technical specialists, developers, and solution providers—each seeking innovative ideas, updated knowledge, and trusted partners to help move their communities forward.

This year’s conference featured the largest exhibitor presence to date, reflecting both the growing demand within the condominium industry and the increased recognition of ACR as a high-value venue for reaching decision-makers. Exhibitors showcased a wide range of products, technologies, and services designed to support effective condominium operations, from building maintenance solutions to financial services, legal expertise, insurance options, and management tools. With Alberta’s condominium market continuing to expand—and with economic pressures prompting organizations and boards to maximize the value of every dollar—the ACR exhibit hall offered cost-effective access to quality prospects, enhanced brand visibility, and new opportunities for growth.

Beyond the exhibit experience, delegates benefitted from a robust schedule of educational programming tailored to the most pressing issues facing condominium communities. Featured panel discussions included From Loss to Recovery: Understanding the Claims Process and Insurable Risks, an in-depth look at navigating insurance complexities; No One Planned for This: Real Talk on Capital Projects, addressing the realities and challenges of major repairs and infrastructure planning; and the always-popular Rapid Fire Legal Panel, providing fast-paced updates on emerging legal considerations and case law relevant to condominium governance.

A series of focused learning streams allowed attendees to dive deeper into specialized topics such as Passing the Torch: Simple Succession Planning for Condo Boards; New Condos – Turnover & Transition; Dealing with the Shortage of Licensed Condo Managers; Boiling Point: Can Your Condo Afford the 2025 Required Upgrades?; and Transitioning of Condominium Management in Alberta. New this year was Open Space, an innovative participant-driven format empowering delegates to set the agenda and explore the topics that mattered most to them through collaborative discussion and shared insight.
