A Heartfelt Thank You To Our Retiring Board Members: Celebrating Years Of Dedication And Leadership

From the Fall 2024 issue of the CCI South Alberta CCI Review

As we look back on the past year, we want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to three outstanding individuals who have stepped down from our Board of Directors at this year’s AGM. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to CCI South Alberta have not only shaped our organization but have also inspired many in our community.

Sherry Bignell, BFL Canada
Over the past two years, Sherry Bignell has been a vital force on our board. Her involvement with the Alberta Condominium & Real Estate Conference was pivotal, as she diligently represented CCI South Alberta, ensuring that every aspect—from speakers to budgets—was managed. Sherry also brought her passion and competitive spirit to our annual golf tournament, where she tirelessly worked to increase player participation and sponsorship. Her efforts culminated in the incredible success of the September 2024 Golf Tournament, exceeding expectations and creating a lasting impact. Sherry, your enthusiasm and leadership will be missed!

Andrew Fulcher, Prairie Management & Realty
Andrew Fulcher has been an unwavering presence on the board for the past 14 years. His contributions are numerous, particularly in building and maintaining the crucial sponsorship program that has helped sustain so many of our chapter’s activities. His efforts also played a key role in organizing the 2018 CCI National Leaders Forum in Banff, one of the largest and most successful events of its kind. Andrew was instrumental in the creation of the Condominium of the Year and Volunteer of the Year Awards, and his partnership with Stephen Cassady brought the CCI Condominium Management Course to communities across Southern Alberta. His wit, humor, and candidness have made him a beloved board member, and his absence will be felt deeply.

Stephen Cassady, 247Condo and CondoPapers
For nearly 17 years, Stephen Cassady has been a cornerstone of CCI South Alberta. Not only did he author and teach the Condominium Management 101 course in places like Medicine Hat and Lethbridge, but his leadership also extended far beyond our chapter. As Vice President in 2016 and later as President of CCI National, Stephen’s initiatives helped create equity for smaller chapters, ensuring fair membership fees across the board. His thoughtful approach to discussions and his passion for the condominium community have made a lasting difference. Stephen, your boundless energy and "awesome" spirit will be greatly missed—but we’ll carry forward your legacy with pride.

Organizational Pillar Awards
As a token of our appreciation for their exceptional contributions, we are proud to recognize both Andrew Fulcher and Stephen Cassady with the Organizational Pillar Award. Their leadership, innovation, and tireless efforts have built a strong foundation for CCI South Alberta, and their influence will continue to shape our future for years to come.

Thank you, Sherry, Andrew, and Stephen, for everything you've done. You leave big shoes to fill, but your legacy will live on in the work we continue to do.
