CCI South Alberta Chapter 2024 Golf Tournament: A Day of Community, Connection, and Charity

On September 16, 2024, the Canadian Condominium Institute (CCI) South Alberta Chapter (SAC) hosted its annual golf tournament at Lakeside Golf Club in Chestermere. This much-anticipated event brought together condominium board members, property managers, industry suppliers, and professionals for a day of friendly competition, networking, and charity.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Starting at a crisp 10°C, the day warmed up to a pleasant 24°C with light winds—a perfect setting for a great day of golf. If anyone had a rough game, they certainly couldn’t blame it on the weather!

The success of this event was made possible by the dedication of our players, volunteers, and committee members, as well as the generosity of our sponsors. A special thank you goes out to all who contributed. The photographer was busy all day capturing team photos and action shots of golfers in top (and questionable) form.

This year, the SAC Board and the Golf Tournament Committee were proud to expand the event’s impact by partnering with Food Banks Alberta. The funds raised through Mulligan sales, a 50/50 draw, and a silent auction allowed us to contribute almost $7,000 to help address food insecurity across the province. It was truly an honour to see Sherry Bignell present a cheque to Food Banks Alberta during the posttournament barbeque and auction.

We were also delighted to have CCI National executives Andree Ball (Chairman) and Tony Reed (Vice President) join us on the course. Both expressed their excitement over the great turnout and were pleased with the community spirit of the event.

This year’s fundraising efforts were made even more special with a friendly challenge to our sister chapter in Northern Alberta, which raised approximately $3,000 in their own tournament. Our participants rose to the occasion, showing the generosity of the Southern Alberta condominium community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated prizes, purchased tickets, placed bids, or simply supported the event in any way. Your contributions will make a real difference in the lives of many Albertans.
